Ascent Of The Amazon Ascensao de Amazonas. Inspired by some of the great Amazon expeditions of the past and a lifelong fascination with this part of our planet, I will attempt to cross South America East to West, on foot, following the mighty Amazon River from the Atlantic coast in Brazil to its source in the Peruvian Andes, then on to the Pacific coast in Peru.

Ed Stafford became the first man to walk the length of the Amazon river in South America from the source to the sea. He started on 2nd April 2008 and finished in August 2010. No-one had ever done what he attempted.
A blog about bushwalking in the aussie bush. It is a funny thing what adrenalin and a little bit of motivation can do. It can be great to see the result of those two coming together and what they can achieve. This post is not only about that but also my three day walk in the rugged but equally beautiful Grose Valley in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales.
